Oklahoma City, OK – Dramatic video is released by Oklahoma City police Monday, of the moments leading up to a shooting that took a suspects life.
Oklahoma City Police shot and killed the man on an EMBARK bus, after they say he tried attacking an officer, For the first time, we’re now able to see surveillance video taken on that EMBARK bus, that picked up the suspect.
We see if from eight different angles. The incident happened in the afternoon, on Friday, June 24th. Miguel Chavez-Angles, gets on the bus, on the run from police, after being released from a mental health evaluation, vandalizing a vehicle, and kidnapping two women.
The video shows him begging and pleading with the driver of the bus, to take him off route, without stopping. We see him attempt to give the driver a wad of cash, even a credit card.
The driver, John Mobley, continues to decline Chavez-Angles’ request. We then see him climb up, and tamper with the fire extinguisher. that’s when Mobley decides to evacuate the passengers on the bus, and call police. But, police are already waiting.
Officer Heather Lane, attempts to arrest the suspect, but then he attempts to throw the fire extinguisher at her, even attempts to grab her gun, shooting into the seat of the bus driver, who is now lucky to be alive.
“He charged her, tried to take the gun from her and a bullet went by my leg and I jumped off I said oh shoot,” says Mobley, who was driving the bus.
Officer Daniel Carli, then comes to assist. he eventually shoots Chavez-Angles, killing him. All of this is is seen in the video.
